Most of you are well-acquainted with student loans — after all, 70 percent of you are still paying them off. But look on the bright side: The cost of college has been going up every year, and students entering this Fall will pay up to $1,400 more this year for tuition than last year. wowww. i go to a public college (paying out of state tuition) and i pay more then the average private college. well technically i would pay more, if i didn't have my scholarship.
These averages are all actually lower than I expected....are these just the tuition numbers? Or is it the "total cost" i.e., expenses, books, room & board, etc.? I assumed that "cost" included the whole package.
As a college student, I worry about tuition all the time!
these averages are lower than i thought they'd be too.
They are pretty low...each of my COURSES cost roughly $600 and that doens't include books and texts that I need...
who goes to private school for 23,000? mine is more than double that!
wth?! I went to two private schools for undergrad and paid between 30K and 36K a year.
Those averages definitely seem low to me...but maybe CA is higher. I paid like $10k a year at UCLA. Thank God I went to community college for the first 2 years! It saved me a ton of money.
I went to UCLA too and I paid upwards of $3,000 per quarter. Books were a pretty large expense. Rent was about $800-1000 per month for me, depending on the year. So through three years of college (I graduated early), my college career was probably around $60,000.
These numbers are wayyy low for the 20 or so colleges I looked at last year. About half of what I saw. My state U (UNH) is the most expensive in the country at around $20k per year.
$23,712? That's all? I believe my alma mater, a private four year college, is currently at $42,000.
I think this quiz may cover tuition only, because I go to an extremely inexpensive public school and I still pay more than the "average."
These don't seem right. I thought private schools cost around 40K, and I go to a public 4 year college in Texas, and it costs $8500 for tuition alone, nevermind the books, cost of living, etc.
Seriously? Tuition alone, for one semester, is over $12k at my public school. That's crap.
Big difference between public and private colleges! Jeez.
