Most of you have some money saved for emergencies [1], and if needed, all it takes is a trip to the ATM or bank to withdraw your funds.

Ryot [2] mentioned that in addition to their emergency fund, she and her husband keep another, smaller stash of cash on hand.

We also have a small amount of emergency evacuation cash, in the bag with the food, water, flashlight, ID docs, etc. Having both makes me feel safer, though obviously I could be doing much better with the interest rate thing . . .
