I get paid every other week. If I got paid monthly, it would help me manage my money so much easier. But the only problem would be when I see a foreseeable expense and couldn't work an extra day and get my money quicker.

it does kinda suck that way...but you make best of it.

Some ppl get paid only on the 15th and 31st or 30th of every month. Others get paid every other Friday. I get paid every other Friday. Im sorry but I couldnt handle every 15th or 31st.

I get paid every friday. I love this because there's always some unforseen expense. I try to put cash aside each week for rent.

I get paid every other Thursday (it's very common to get paid on Thursday in Canada). In the past, when I was living in Europe, I was used to get paid every first business day of the month so when I had to switch my habits it took me some times to get used to it ... I always had the feeling that I was out of money .... which actually was the case as I earned very few money on my first job here. Luckily I quickly found a better job.

@lawchick - the difference between every other week and twice a month is that with every other week payment you get paid 26 times a year versus 24 with twice a month...so there will be some months that you receive two paychecks and some where you receive 3. I get paid on the 15 and the end of the month.

We get paid every other Friday. The nice thing is that some months are set up so we get paid three times instead of two.

I get paid every day hehe. But then the lil checks that come are supposed to be every other friday, but they are so backed up that our checks we're getting now date back to June. Again, so happy otherwise that I get paid daily with tips!

The 15th and the last day of the month. At first, I hated it, because I was used to getting paid on Fridays and having money for the weekend. but now I find that it helps me manage my money better.

I get paid every two weeks. I use to get paid on the 15th and 30th and every month - makes no difference to me - I stick to my budget.

I get paid the 15th and the 30/31st at my regular job. My freelance job pays me one week after I work for them. So if I work at least once a week for them I'll get paid every Friday. It's kind of the best of both worlds!!

My previous job I got paid every other Friday, and now I get paid the 15th and 30th of every month. I like it better now, because the hours (for me) end up being around 88 - 90 instead of just 80 every check....

Once a month. At first I thought I would hate it...but I ended up loving it! It really helps me budget out the month and I save WAY more money this way rather than getting paid twice monthly.

lawchick, you're not getting jipped. two months out the year, you get three paychecks a month. the rest you get two paychecks a month. the first one for this year was in may. your next third paycheck will be in november.

Ok, I read each comment, and I have to ask, am I the ONLY person who gets paid every other TUESDAY????? Seriously? WTF? I used to get paid every Friday when I was freelance (actually I was "perma-lance"), but when I got converted to staff I switched to the staff payroll. Every two weeks. On Tuesday! I can handle every two weeks, but I really really dislike the fact that it's on Tuesdays. *sigh* At least I'm getting paid though, right? This year, July & December are the two months we get 3 pay checks instead of 2.

ok if anyone knows this would be a great help. My new manager told me that im being cheated; We get paid on the 15th and 30th of each month. He claims that if a month as 31 days one of my checks should be larger then the other during that time because of the extra day. He said his sister who lives in Cali gets paid on the 15th and 30th and she has one check that is larger then the other and that he thinks we are being cheated. i hope i explained it right because he is all over the place with his convos and i often get lost. input please?

Bi-monthly...I stick to my budget so I'm never out of money, but I like seeing it hit my account. July has been hard because I got paid early (July 4 holiday interfered) and this check will be two days late because the pay date falls on a Sunday. My last job paid weekly, and I really got used to that schedule.

Supposedly once a week, but there's really no consistency to it. But then, I'm a contractor, so that's to be expected. I check with the CFO each time I'm in the office to see if he has a check for me, but don't hound him about it because this company has been really good about paying me in a timely manner, and not "misplacing" invoices. So payday is whatever day I happen to stop by and pick up the check. I think the regular employees of the company get paid every other Thursday.

I get paid twice a month...on the 15th & 30th/31st. It's really strange though because most of my checks are the same amount. It's almost like getting paid biweekly but the timecards don't consist of a full 14 days of work. (My timecards are from the 9th-24th of one month and the 25th of one month to the 8th of the next month.)

@Fiend: Your boss is right in a way. If you truly get paid twice a month (15th & 30th/31st)..then one of the paychecks could be larger than the other if there are more work days in one portion of the month than the other. Like for this month, let's say your work place includes the 15th on the 1st timecard (and the 30th/31st on the 2nd paycheck) then you'd get paid for the following days: 1st-4th, 7-11th, and the 14th & 15th with a total of 11 days. For the 2nd half of the month, you'd get paid from the 16th-18th, 21st-25th, and 28th-31st; totalling: 12 days. So the 2nd paycheck would be a bit larger..but that isn't always the case. It all depends on the # of weekdays in the month. You might want to talk to HR or the Accounting Department at your work about this. Each company has a different way of doing the payroll. And always check the dates on your timecard to make sure you're getting paid for the right days.. I hope this helps!

I get paid on the 15th and 31st day of each month. For those who get paid the same amount everytime, it's because it all evens out in the end. For example, in October this year there are 11 work days (weekdays) days in the first pay period (Oct 1 - 15) and then 12 in the second (Oct 16 - 31.) However, in November there are 10 work days in each pay period. So for your October pay checks to be more, your November pay checks would be less. I personally would rather know exactly how much is coming every time.

It kinda sucks, but I think it helps me manage my money better.
