Later this month the federal government and several states will increase their minimum wages. Even after the raise, 24 states and the District of Columbia will have minimum wages higher than the new federal wage of $6.55. What do you know about the minimum wage as it stands today?     Wow "living" is getting expensive I guess to cause these changes! 5 yrs ago I worked at our university gym entrance desk swiping students id cards and got paid $5.35/hr . . good for these states!

    What do I know about minimum wage?? Umm, that no one can afford to live on it. Unless you still live with your parents.

    $2.65?! how is that legal? is that for service positions with tips/commissions?

    The federal minimum wage trumps the state so it doesn't matter if the state's is less than the federal or nonexistent.

    Sad to see they're raising it again. =( When are they going to stop doing stupid get the vote now things instead of what is in the best interest of people long term? We don't need more inflation or unemployment!
