It's common knowledge that a potential employer will do a Google search for your name when they're considering you for a position, so it's a good idea to know what's out there for them to find.
My search doesn't come up with anything too mind blowing, but here are some highlights: there's a press release from when I was promoted at my previous job, my name appears on a list of my graduating college class, and if you dig really deep into the Google results I'm quoted at age 19 in a very random article in my campus's paper.
What comes up when you plug in your name? Anything that makes you giggle or blush?

Matthew Williamson
Ann Sofie Back

The first 2 things are my facebook profile and my flixster account thats it everything else is about other people that share my name.
1Not much. Some work internship work I did in college and my contact information from my current job.
2I get recipes i have posted on Allrecipes.com
3Article on my deployment to help out hurricane victims in the panhandle.
Apparently a film director has the same name as me...lol...
4screw that, im actually scared to see if anything comes up, i dunno why, but i am
5My Facebook profile, my LinkedIn profile, my old band's MySpace page, a review of my blog, a few articles I've written for work, my public wish list on Amazon, a directory listing for my fashion blog, my Technorati profile, a press release I submitted for work, a few more blog listings, my old band's profile on PureVolume, and a press release I wrote for a friend's business a million years ago.
In that order.
There are a few people who share my first and last name, and the results have stuff about them as well. But that's all the stuff about me.
6My road race times. That's about it.
7There's an actress with my maiden name, as well as a bunch of other people. With my married name I get all of my profiles, but nothing incriminating! Most of it is for professional reasons, anyway.
8Only things about the actress who shares my name. Actually I'm happy about that- I don't need my facebook page popping up.
9A whole bunch of other jessica's like simpson and beal
10I'm glad my name is too common for it to matter!
11There's this one really, really old LiveJournal that I really want to have removed from their site, but I don't remember my username or password or anything else to get them to do it
12my profile page on my firm's website, some race results, & the website for the journal I was on in law school.
13Nothing. I like it that way.
14My personal website, my facebook profile, some student films and web projects I did in college (only half the stuff is still on the server, but I'm surprised even at that!), and the rest of the stuff that comes up doesn't pertain to me: adult entertainers, babies, dogs, etc.
15my facebook and linked in page. then everything else is all other people. actually i'm not even sure if those are my facebook and linked in or someone else with my name cause they are blocked at work so i can't tell! i'll have to check later. linked in i'm not worried about at all. facebook i think i have set to private but i also keep it clean anyways - nothing incriminating. so i'm pretty ok!
16I can't find anything after 10 pages of results. There were 2 Facebook profiles but they weren't mine.
17I am mostly unGoogleable. However, if one searches just right you can a short article I wrote in the 5th grade about wanting to be a vet and save the environment that was published in our local paper. You can also find a Christmas Wish list from when I was 5 years old also published in the same paper. Other than that, I am unknown in cyberspace.
18My bio on my work's website is one of the first things that comes up. Another bio of when I was in grad school (my cohort was very small) also comes up early in the results. There are also some class projects from when I was an undergrad that come up, but I doubt those are still on their original servers (didn't check the links). It also tracked the few times I signed my high school's alumni guestbook. Some other stuff came up as well, but nothing incriminating!
19A few years ago it just listed me - race results from high school and a blurb on my department website in college. Now it has those plus a scientific publication, but there's another person with my name finally. Unfortunately, the last time I looked she had a skanky Facebook picture (her profile is Google result #1).
20Weird - lots of stuff that I didn't even know were out there! Some photos of my a friend posted on her website, my profiles, a quote from me that was included in a book....
21My name, First and Last, is WAAAAYYY to common to know. There's over 9 mil results.
22Nothing! I too have a common, boring name, and I like it that way.
When I was younger I wanted to marry a guy with a really exotic-sounding name, but now I'm really glad that I fell in love with a Jones.
23a whole bunch of stuff about another woman with the same name lol and then other minor stuff about many other women with the same name. I had to dig about 6 or 7 pages before I found something about me.
24Nothing about me but with the few have my name---they have interesting things about them.
25Apparantly there is a musician with the same name as me, but nothing actually about me comes up.
26haha wow... first thing that comes up are a few old pictures of me and a musician whose band now popular. they are posted on a website called buzznet which apparently allows lots of girls to give their in depth opinions on how "skanky" I look.
27I lot of cool stuff about other people with the same name.
28My LinkedIn and Facebook profiles. That's about it.
29A couple people who aren't me pop up first, and an article or two I wrote a year or two ago, but nothing distinguishing or incriminating. I don't often put my full name on anything that isn't professional, even my blog or social networking sites.
30Funny you should ask...I use my name - my full name - for business purposes and am pretty involved with online marketing.
About a month ago I received an email - at my work account - from my boyfriend's wife. YEP - my boyfriend's WIFE! She must have Googled my name to find my email address at work.
I'm sure you're wondering what's happened since - you'll have to do a little detective work and DM me directly (twitter) if you're dying to know.
31My names are all pretty common, but if I google my full name (first, maiden, married) the first hit is LinkedIn, and on page two appears my grandfather's obituary. I'm sure my Facebook profile would show up eventually, but it's not public. Searching either just first+maiden gets a ton of non-me hits and first+married as well, plus some author.
I like it this way! I doubt there would be anything bad for a future employer to find even if I had a less common name.
32Almost nothing turns up. It's possible there's something out there, somewhere, but there's a writer and a painter who both share my name, so the search just drags up pages and pages of their stuff.
33My personal website pops up, my Myspace, and maybe a few other boring pages that pertain to me. But unfortunately I happen to share a name with a girl who spends her free time making amateur porn (I assume - I've never actually viewed any of the videos that pop up in the search).
34The website for my RHA back in college, Dean's list for college, my job, something my mom posted on a geneaology website.
35However, when I do a search for "sweetpeabrina" a whole bunch of sugar sites come up!
some English soccer player, some music page profile on MySpace...neither of which is me!
36Apparently, there is a musician with the same name as me, but nothing actually about me comes up, thanks god
37hmm, well, someone with my name is donating an awful lot of money to politcal causes. I hope they're good.
38Let's see, we got facebook, my Dirty Wow Wow (my blankie from when I was a kid), Rutgers CS honors grad ceremony, the page I did for my web authoring class, my boyfriend's lastfm page, lol. Yeah, I don't use my real name much, but even if I did, I'm a good girl
An actress, whose name you won't know. But she's starred in soap operas, guest-starred in CSI type shows, a medium part in a feature film, a mini-series, & Hallmark movies. She's very pretty!
Nothing about ME!
39Apparently there are quite of bit of people with my name. One is a teacher, another is an actress and one is a doctor. I only show up three times. Two was when I made the president's list at college and the other is when I graduated from college.
40I have an incredibly common name, so not much about me comes up. I've met people who have tried to Google me and were very confused with some of the results that came up. There is one thing about me that comes up from a group I was involved with in college, but that's it until about 8 pages in.
41My aunt's pictures (she's a model), and a famous painter who had the same last name as me but pretty much nothing else.
42I have a bunch of archives from when I wrote for a paper, but there's another girl with my name who wrote for a teen magazine and so it looks like I wrote about politics, the environment...and acne. Great.
Also there's a school named after a person with my name, in the South. Sweet!
43Friends' blogs and stuff I wrote for other publications.
44Back when I wrote on an MIT blog, the blog links were pretty high up on the list (because MIT gets a hefty boost in google results). Now you get an author/writer with my name...later you can find facebook and linkedin profiles. It used to be that you'd see me on my old company's website, and a few other sites, but I think some of the older stuff has been buried under newer sites.
45Is there a way to control what pops up under your name?
46My name is very common so googling it results in nothing linked to me. However if you google my name along with my city and state my race times come up. But thats it.
47i checked out the face book link for my name and it wasn't even me! linked in was though but that's more professional anyway so who cares. other then that nothing is about me!
48I don't have a common first or last name, but surprisingly, all the other women with my name have been pretty busy! If you go to the second page of google results, there's a genealogy page, and the woman listed has my first name, my mom's first name (correct spelling, too! She's an Anne, not an Ann) as her middle name, and a different last name.
Gosh, even when you search for me plus the city I live in, I'm not there. When you search for me plus the city I grew up in, one of my HS rival's mothers pops up as the first result! Which is a little funny. It's a people-finder type website, so she isn't connected to my last name, but it's still pretty funny.
49my facebook comes up when i goggle myself with my married name...my lacrosse stats from college show up when i goggle myself with my maiden name...
