You all surprised me when you indicated that most of your college majors have been put to use since graduation. Because they've earned you some type of job it's apparent that your majors have been lucrative to an extent, but maybe you'd have had an easier go of things if your major had been different.
Personally, I have no regrets even though I'm sure another major would have meant a different career path and higher starting salary. Aren't you curious to see which college major is considered the most lucrative? Take your best guess!

Since I've been out of college for 8 years now, I think it's too late to change my major...
1I thought Pharmacy students earn more than that out of school?
2yay! i got it right..and i agree, because i have one..well, computer science is my degree, slightly different than computer engineering, still just as lucrative.
3That's hot! My degree is in Computer Engineering and I'm currently an IT Project Manager.
4everyone needs smart little computer techs, so good for you alkaline - that's a TOUGH major...i couldn't have done it!
and bengal you're right to an extent, but pharm students go to a separate school for that. my
major is advertising with a specialization in PR and my first job out of college was with warner brothers. save the fact that this economy sucks, things are much different now in terms of
getting jobs!
5Sheesh. My computer science degree is definitely not paying out as a grad student. I guess the flexible schedule makes up for it?
6Actually, petroleum engineers make more than computer engineers. Starting salary with a BS right out of college is $70K.
7damsel- Plenty of jobs pay more than that out of school but this was about avergages for majors. how many schools actually offer a degree in petroleum engineering? where as computer engineering is commonly offered across the country.
8I have a CS degree and I'm thoroughly enjoying the money.
9If I could go back to college, I would major in nursing so I could have a good job, no matter my location. Only problem is that I am nowhere near smart enough, haha.
10petroleum and chemical engineers make the most right out of college and mining engineers make the most in the long term. these are statistics found at the career website at my school.
11I graduated with an electronics engineering degree but ended up switching when I moved to Silicon Valley, it was a bad time at the time.
12Got it!
13I knew it wasn't anthropology.
14Yay I have an IT degree! I would have been disappointed if I was wrong lol.
15That was fairly easy
16I thought it would be either Economics of Business Administration - everyone I know who have graduated with those majors are doing significantly better than the computer engineering majors I know.
17Well people we are living in different times now. I'm sure anything involving technology will be lucrative from now until forever more.
18hmm. i graduated with an environmental engineering degree and after 10 yrs of working i thought i would be at $100k+ salary... but not even close! it's a tough job market even during the "green" movement.
19silly ole me picked journalism/ PR and can't find a job to save my life. *chuckles* Oh well. . .that's the way the degree crumbles.
20My bro is a comp engineer that got swed up right out of undergrad, started off with a 57K job that jumped to a 75K and now just at age 28 he's at his 3rd job/company as of thursday making 100K. Pretty nice, but then again that's also what we really good bartenders make hehe.
