When your office requires a specific dress code you can end up with several wardrobes: one for work, one for casual daytime, and another for nights out. Leaving a business-casual environment (no sleeveless shirts, open-toed shoes, denim, etc.) and moving to a casual environment was a truly freeing experience for me! Not to mention the money I save from not having to buy a separate work wardrobe. What do you wear to the office?

Although the dress code is a casual one that I comply with (as ofen as I can), whenever I do spend the extra "effort" i.e. accessories that compliment a more business look, makeup, heels/pumps---all my co-workers want to know if I have a date!
Casual. Today I wore a black cotton top, jeans, and sandals.
Business casual. I wear khakis and button downs a lot of the time in the summer, or niceish pants and a sweater in the winter.
I selected Business Casual - but it is a little more casual than most, it is more "look like you care (about being employed here)"
Very casual and I am thankful for it
we wear business casual & i HATE it. i worked here for about a year & a half before going back to school & now i'm here again over summer, so i was annoyed that i had to spend more money on business casual clothes that i'm only going to wear this summer. i tried to find tops that i can wear later with jeans & only bought a few new skirts & dress pants.
Jeans and a T-shirt if I so desire. Usually I wear a polo or a button-up to feel more like a professional and less like a college student.
My office does not have a specific dress code, but my daily dress is determined by what I have planned for that day....if I am running around - flats, in the office - jeans, meeting days - dresses:)
casual. i actually turned down a job that paid more because i knew i would be spending the extra money on a new work wardrobe
Super casual. When I got the job I actually had to go out and buy several pairs of jeans... Which I wore with heels until my new co-workers pulled me aside after the first week and told me I was too fancy for the office, and needed to get some flip-flops ASAP in order to look the part. Three and a half years later and I am forever ruined, I don't think I could go back to the corporate world!
My workplace is extremely laid back...we wear whatever we want!
Business Casual. I love it. It's still professional-looking, but you can have fun with it.
My place is casual, but we have a few rules. Jeans can't be frayed or have holes, shoes must be close-toed, and shirts cannot be sleeveless. Also, no "excessive" cleavage. The AC is also working horribly during this loooovely Texas summer (hatehatehate), and I keep wishing for sandals, shorts, and tank tops.
Business casual w/ casual Fridays.
Business casual with wear jeans on Fridays unless there's a meeting to attend.
I am self-employed so anything goes. Most often I wear exercise clothes. I have ones. Even so, sometimes I wish I had motivation to dress up other than those times when I take a business trip.
I did it again: cannot type! I meant to say: "I have good ones," meaning gym wear.
ours is very strange... men have to wear a tie, women can wear pretty much any top and pants, but no capris, no polo shirts (but you can wear sleeveless), no "unnatural hair color" and no "gaudy" jewelry. Very strange and inconsistent!
casual... in fact sometimes I feel a little out of place when I wear a dress or something more business like.
I love my job. It's so casual. The only people that dress up are the interns! haha... They are SO easy to spot! We can seriously wear whatever we want. It's one of the perks of working in a creative field/industry.
Business casual we don't even get to wear jeans on Friday I miss that
I work in an art gallery, so what i wear is usually more on the trendy side, which is awesome because with a slight tweaking it can be my casual or going out wardrobe
I can't imagine having to wear closed toed shoes, especially in the summer. All of my nice, comfortable heels/wedges are open-toed. I pretty much always wear wedges, a mid-length skirt, a dressed up tank top and a sweater/jacket over it. I avoid cleavage as best I can and always cover the sleeveless aspect of the shirt. It works well for me because though I would never wear the outfits in every day life, I would wear all of the pieces separately.
I can get away w/wearing pretty much anything, unless I have a meeting.
Business casual, but I get a lot farther with in my meetings when I go formal. Things get lax in the summer because it's so darn hot in Texas, but the only repercussion for dressing sloppily is gossip.
The only requirements we have as far as what we wear have to do with working in a laboratory. No open toed shoes, no skirts/dresses, pants cannot be higher than your ankles (so no shorts, capris, etc).
Other than that it's pretty casual. Jeans are fine, t-shirts fine. You can be as dressed up or as dressed down as you want....as long as you follow the above rules....
I'm a nanny currently so I lounge around in my track pants more often than not. However I used to be a secretary, thankfully my boss was very relaxed, my attire included jeans, stylish t-shirts and flats, and on the occasional cool day a blazer. I generally kept it very casual, she wore shorts to work more often than not so really I often felt over dressed, but it was nice to wear what I wanted.
biz caz, baby. i work with a bunch of engineers and architects, and there's nothing they hate worse than a tie. there's nothing i hate worse than hosiery, so we're all good.
TECHNICALLY my work is casual leaning toward formal but most people just don't stick to that. Thankfully I can usually get away with wearing "dressy" flip flops (i.e. with sequins or beads) and a skirt or capris or something and a cardigan or once in a while a blazer. If there is a meeting I'll look more presentable but usually I'm pretty laid back. I figure, there are people who wear sweatshirts and tennis shoes, so I'm still pretty dressy compared to that!
VERY casual, It's a come as your are environment. I really do love it.
Business casual..I wear heels just about everyday..although the guys were suits all the time..on Fridays I manage to get away with jeans as long as I wear them with heels and a nice top.
wear*
formal business attire. it's to be expected when you work for a law firm.
Business casual and jean Fridays!
Very casual! I wear jeans and a t-shirt every day unless we have an important in-house meeting, in which case an email goes out the day before that tells us to dress business casual.
Business casual, I hate it! But some of the time you can get away with khakis and such.
Today I have on my wide leg demin pants.
marcella, totally depends on the law firm. we're business casual -- I usually wear a casual dress with wedge sandals in the summer. I only wear a suit when I have to go to court, once or twice a month.
i work in a shoe boutique, so we dress around our shoes, essentially. we cannot wear blue jeans and we add cardigans to dresses and tops that are too showy in the cleavage area. it is pretty casual in that we can wear anything, but we all try to wear more trendy or fashionable things.
No jeans, no shorts, no untucked shirts and fairly clean shaven(for guys). Anything else is really game. Mostly I wear dresses and flats but other coworkers wear slacks and a tee shirt or polo shirt. We also have a uniform that is worn for some activities. Pretty business casual.
Business casual. No flip flops. Jeans on Fridays with a respectable blouse. Today, for example, I am wearing khakis, a button up shirt and some ballet flats.
Casual. Pretty much anything goes.
Super casual. They tried to say no shorts/tank tops for awhile but no one follows that. Sometimes I wish there'd be more of a dress code. People come into work wearing shorts, 10-year-old Derby shirts (I live in Louisville, KY) and flip flops that a few take off and go barefoot. UGH!
The supervisors/managers always wear business casual, so I go sort of with that and wear a lot of skirts and heels, or at least a nice top, jeans and heels. People always say I'm dressed up at work, but come on, it's a job. At least look presentable and like you bathe.
Business casual and no casual Friday
I live for jeans!!!!!!!!!!!! Makes me jealous of some of you!
It's pretty much "anything goes" at my work, though it's suggested that you at least try for business casual when the "big wigs" are around (usually once, maybe twice a year). I try to look nice most of the time, and I always try to keep from showing cleavage (harder than you think when you're a busty girl like me!), but that's more because I hate it when my colleagues are staring at my chest instead of listening to what I'm saying.
lucky for me i work in advertising where we can be a bit more relaxed than in other offices. i usually wear a dress to work and look nice, but my boss typically wears jeans. it's interesting to see how the mix is here.
Formal -- suits (almost always skirt suits -- more conservative), panty hose, etc. When I'm not in court I lean toward buisness casual but always have a blazer on hand.
Business casual with casual Fridays, but the definition of that seems completely different in Texas than it did when I lived up north. Basically, anything that's not jeans or shorts seems to be appropriate.
However, I recently got promoted and have been working on a big project with consultants who show up wearing suits, so I've been dressing up a little more during the past few weeks. However, with my new position, I'm pretty sure I no longer get casual Fridays.
Business Casual.. typically wear khaki like pants and a polo shirt or top. We all wear Chung Shi shoes everyday. We can wear any shoes that we sell though.
Business casual.
Casual, yay. I can even wear flip flops to work.
