As if the 30 percent increase in electric bills over the past five years wasn't enough, many US households will see their bills jump another 29 percent this Summer. We all can expect energy costs to increase but the percentage depends on each utility company.
For example, Potomac Edison in Virginia will raise rates by 29 percent while AmerenUE of Missouri will raise rates by 12.1 percent. Some residents have already seen big increases, like customers of Colorado's Public Service Co. whose rates jumped 25 percent at the beginning of June. The cause of these large hikes? Why fuel costs, of course.

1Yea my electric bill was a HUGE surprise this month. it's our first in the new home so I'm hoping part of the spike was moving/renovation related...

4this makes me glad that my utilities are included in my rent.
5I hope I never lose my job then.. I work from home now and my company pays the DWP (power) bill. I've been running the AC in my living-room for like 4 days straight. Right this moment two dudes are installing an ac in my bedroom so I can sleep at night, lol. My boss is going to flip his lid when he see's my DWP bill!
