We've been familiar with the glass ceiling for some time now, but the glass door is completely different — Glassdoor.com, that is. The newly launched site is aiming to bring more transparency to job searching, and if the site succeeds in gaining participants willing to share accurate salary data, job seekers may have more leverage when nailing down that final offer.
The site also encourages members to review other aspects of their jobs like company culture and bosses. Membership to the site is free but you must first submit a company review or salary details before you browse what others have written — would you consider joining and sharing your own, anonymous, salary information or company review?

That would be super useful! I started a job out of college two years ago and had no idea what I should expect in term of salary, so I would look into when I next look for a job!
1i would probably share my current salary info to get a better idea of the pay ranges that i'll see once i'm out of school.
2And even if you've been in the work force for a while, you tend to lose sight of who's getting what which can cause you to undersell yourself when you look to change positions. Looks like a great site.

5I think that site is a good idea. Too many good intelligent people are underpaid right now.
6Too bad this is just for the SF Bay area. It's also good to know that the job title that I want (and what I'm getting my masters in) has a ridiculously high salary.
7And the bay area is kind of its own economy - go anywhere else (aside from NY) and salaries will not be the same
