Online shopping is an amazing tool for those of us with jam-packed lives, but there's also something special about going into stores and finding that perfect something. Shopping online allows us to look around for the best deal and easily comparison shop, but it's also very easy to impulsively add an item you're on the fence about to your cart. Shopping in stores isn't innocent, either, and being surrounded by clothes and shoes (name your poison) can tempt even the most hesitant shopper. Does one of them have a bigger impact on your spending habits?

I just spend too much in either place!!
It depends on the store. If I go buy clothes at Target, I might as well just hand them my paycheck. "Oh, didn't I need laundry detergent/milk/new dishes/a vacuum cleaner/don't those crackers look good..." and on and on
if i see something online i know i can come back to it and think on the purchase, but if i see it in the store there is more of the urgency to buy it right now.
In terms of clothes, I will RARELY buy online. I am a very petite girl and it is not always easy for me to find something that I think fits just right. I think online shopping is fun for browsing in general, but I'd rather actually buy in stores.
I'd say I spend more in the stores...I'm always a little hesitant to order clothes and shoes online, not knowing if they'll fit perfectly, etc. I like being able to try things on and really check an item out.
in store is my worst! I always go in with the intentions to spend x amount of money and end up leaving with 6 bags spending xxxx money

i've just recently started shopping online...what have i've gotten myself
into..
If buying clothes, I tend to spend more money in the store, because I can try things on to see if they fit, all the while "bonding" with the sales person. An expensive combination!
Online is evil - I get sucked into buying more to get free shipping!
It depends if there's a sale going on online or in a store i'm in, but I can get in a bit of trouble doing both!
I shop more often in stores, but I tend to spend more $ per transaction when I do shop online. I love being able to try things on in the store and I usually only order online if I'm fairly familiar with that sizing.
Stores, I hate being hit with shipping. Eww.
I do my majority of shopping on online. I subscribe to Lucky Magazine and joined their lucky rewards program. When you access a site through the link on Lucky you earn a percentage back in a mastercard. Example...access Sephora through Lucky and earn 5% back. Doesnt seem like much, but it adds up in the end:) Plus with gas costs the money you spend on shipping can easily even out. Another suggestion is to find a free shipping code and the shipping is free!!
Stores because I can take home the stuff right away, whereas online you have to wait for the delivery and you have to worry if you'll get the stuff OK.
I think online because (like someone else mentioned above) of the free shipping deals ... I often end up with something I wouldn't have gotten if not for the free shipping!
Online because I always buy more to get the free shipping LOL!
I am the worst in Target. I go in for one thing and the next thing I know my bill is sky high.
Free shipping always makes me spend more!! And I don't think about the actual money I am spending while I shop online! In a store, I actually have to see and sign for my credit or check card so its more real! I know it sounds strange, but for me..thats true!
I think online. First, because I don't see what it's REALLY like, and second because you need a certain amount for free shipping so you always try to get that!
i think that my spending habits are rather consistent regardless of how/where i do my shopping.
well i never did or will do shopping online. I worry too much about if they will fit me right especially clothes, but for stores, my spending habit is fine because i find all the bargains and still have enough to get my by. I'm a college student so I look for the sales sign but i don't go over my head.
Online
Neither - I spend about the same.
Exactly Lovely, I remember buying a lot from Urban Outfitters online a few years ago and when the items came the material was cheap and the stuff didn't look like it did in the catalog. I wouldn't have bought it if I had seen that in person. I still spend a small fortune at topshop though.
Also I think its about the mood I'm in-sometimes I am in the mood to scour the racks and immerse myself in the shopping experience, but most of the time I just want to click 'jeans' and see what they have , its just easier.
Being in the store, I always buy more. I have more time to think when i buy online and so I usually just delete the whole thing and then go to the store or I only buy what I was looking for.
i spend more online. i spend less in stores because i would've observed the fit before making the purchase. i'm also terrible at returning things to the stores when an online purchase didn't work out. i usually just give the item to one of my friends.
It is so easy to click "Add to Cart".
I spend more online. Especially when i find a really good promotion code. That's my excuse to buy more. I'm really trying to cut down though. I need to.
