MSN Money classified these eight money personalities and reasoned that "Your financial behavior originates in your unconscious attitudes about money. Figuring out your money type could help you make better investing decisions and save you from disaster." The article determined that it's ideal to have a balance of all the characterizations — can you see yourself in any of them, or perhaps you have multiple money personalities?
- The Guardian is always alert and careful.
- The Pleasure Seeker prioritizes pleasure and enjoyment in the here and now.
- The Idealist places the greatest value on creativity, compassion, social justice, or spiritual growth.
- The Saver seeks security and abundance by accumulating more financial assets.
- The Star spends, invests, or gives away money to be recognized, feel hip or classy, and increase self-esteem.
- The Innocent avoids paying significant attention to money, believing (or hoping) that life will work out for the best.
- The Caretaker gives and lends money to express compassion and generosity.
- The Empire Builder thrives on power and innovation to create something of enduring value.

i'm a saver, idealist and guardian! actually, i don't have a problem spending money on the things i want but i realize that i will be solely responsible for taking care of myself in retirement so i want to make sure everything is on the up and up.
1hmmm this is very interesting. I'm definatly a Pleasure Seeker, The Star, and and Empire Builder.
2I'm definitely "The Innocent" ooh. that is spot on.
It's funny because my husband and I had this huge convo last night about this because he is a saver. I just told him that for me having money out of sight/out of mind is just better for me to function and since he's a saver he can deal with it all.
3I'm somewhere between a Pleasure Seeker, Innocent, and Idealist.
I do have a 401k and some stock investments at least.
4I am more like the The Guardian and The Caretaker (I really need to stop helping people especially family out too much, it makes them dependent).
5I'm totally The Guardian. I think it's very necc to be in the "know" of your assets and such.
6I'm "The Innocent" to a tee. It's just not something I spend my time thinking about.
7I'm a guardian, for sure.
8I'm an 'Innocent-Guardian-Idealist' or 'Born to Be Broke'
9i'm a guardian and saver
10I was Innocent until I realized my husband was a Pleasure Seeker. So then I became Guardian and Saver. I'm also a little bit of a Star but I try to hold that side down.
11I am a Star/Caretaker - seems like an odd combo. But a long time ago at work we took a profile tests and mine said that I work hard because I like nice things and the luxurious things that come with having money, and to be able to take care of those close to me - which I think more accurately describes my "money personality"
12I'm a mix of The Pleasure Seeker, The Star, The Innocent, and The Saver.
13innocent pleasure seeking caretaker
14guardian pleasure seeker
15Totally a pleasure seeker with a little bit of innocent.
16Pleasure seeker with some guardian thrown in.. Although I think innocent is a better classification for me.
17I took this quiz -- let me just say, it was DEAD ON! Opened my eyes a little... I definitely want to try and change my 'personality.'
18Innocent pleasure seeker idealist. Sounds just like me.
19im a pleasure-seeker/empire-builder, but at certain times a guardian. self-control and discipline does it.
20I'm definitely 100% a saver right now and always have been. I hope to be the empire builder in the future though.
21i'm a pleasure seeker who's morphing into a saver. that's a step in the right direction...
