Edit your online presence — it's one part of the job search that's in your basic control. It is essential you clean up your online reputation to the best of your ability before any potential employers get around to finding you on Facebook. You don't have to hide the real you completely, just take out the parts that wouldn't be appropriate for a boss to see including words and pictures. Ask yourself how you'd feel answering questions about any specifics during a job interview, and if you're hesitant about addressing any detail you've shared online then it probably doesn't belong there.

Or just delete your accounts
1The annoying thing about facebook (well, one of the many anymore, I'm really sick of seeing I have 999999 invites for applications and all that crap) is that you have little control over what people post about you. Anyone can access pictures on someone else's account (especially if it's been commented on) that has you tagged in it. So even if you don't put up pictures of you doing a keg stand, it can still potentially be accessed by an employer.
2Anne --- I know that doesn't delete the picture, but you can "un tag" yourself from a photo, and it will be more difficult for someone to find you that way.
3It's funny how little some people think about censoring themselves for future potential employers. Also, in that case, how much people don't censor themselves after they've gotten the job!
4This is silly actually. No one will look for your humiliating pictures when you apply for a job. See this article:

A smart thing to do, however, is a double personality, one public and one private, and to check regularly that they don't link to each other.
5I agree with anne. you dont really have full control over whats online. yeah, you can untag which makes it harder to find, but people are able to find it. thats the problem. God help you when your next boss rreeeeeallly wants to see those keg stand photos someone else decided to put up from that party freshman year that you completely forgot about.
6So true. You have to take down pictures of you drunk on your myspace. Class everything up or make it so you can't be searched by your real name and just your screen name.
