If you'd like to honor the men and women who have served our country or are in the process of doing so, one way of giving back is to donate to a veteran's charity or the USO. Charity.com has a full list of various charities like Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund, Veterans First, and the Missing Man Foundation. The site gives detailed descriptions on what each charity strives to achieve. And if you don't have any cash to spare, volunteering your time is always a great way to give back and Veterans' Hospitals could always use an extra pair of charitable hands.
