Recently, I heard the phrase "job goggles" and got a big kick out of it. Similar to the power of beer goggles that distort the hotness levels of other bar patrons, job goggles are the result of too many hours of staring at your computer and too many hours around the same people. Boredom and over-exposure cause you to think that people with whom you share your office are more attractive than you might have otherwise thought. Part of me just likes saying "job goggles," but part of me thinks there's something to this little theory. Perhaps some unlikely matches who found each other through job goggles are now living happily ever after, or at least they had fun at a few office parties. Have you or anyone you've known ever worn job goggles?

That is the funniest phrase!
this HAS happened to me...basically i got so bored of not dating anyone, and sick of the fact that no guys at work were worthy (even though guys come and go through my office constantly) so i basically talked myself into the fact that one guy was "more than a friend" and we dated briefly...it ended fine, but it was all a result of the job goggles!!
Makes sense.
hilarious! i had school goggles as a teen, so this makes sense. ha.
OMG that is so true! I think that staring at excel and acess will really enhance the effects...That's probably why I married my husband... we met at work...
My friend had "job goggles" when he set me up with one of his co-workers. The guy was not only unattractive but a complete tool. Blech. I was baffled why my friend thought that we would hit it off...well, now I know!
this is so true! there are mostly women where i work so whenever a delivery or repair man visits, he can be average looking but we would all think he is hot, simply due to underexposure to men!
Interesting concept.
Luner I met my husband at work, too, ha ha I have to tell him about "job goggles"
my girlfriend at work and i refer to guys as "work-hot," as in hot, but only relative to the other people at work.
