Indecisiveness has just become more expensive. You may start questioning whether or not you really need two pairs of black heels on your week-long vacation when most airlines raise their fees for checking a second bag as of May 5, and a new fee increase may just have you questioning whether or not you can afford to extend that never-want-it-to-end vacation. United has announced its new policy of charging $150 instead of $100 for its ticket-change fee due to offset increased fuel costs, and if history has taught us anything, it's that airlines are quick to adopt any fee hikes once a precedent has been set. I'm just waiting for the next frustrating headline to drop.
The good news is that some hotels are offering gas rebates, food vouchers, and stay-two-nights-get-one-night-free types of specials, in efforts to keep us from throwing in the travel towel completely. Summer travel season will tell whether or not their efforts are enough to get people to go on pricier-than-ever road trips or ever-expensive flights.

Off the topic: I am going on a business trip for four days. I was thinking of not checking my bag - how do people get away with this:
do they not have full size products and how do you survive with out certain things. I think I may have to check a bag.

You can find cheap bottles at the drugstore that are regulation size. Just fill these empty bottles with your products and you'll be all set.
2It really sucks that gas prices, which are already hurting people financially, are making other things less affordable as well. It's not like we're not seeing the higher costs at the pump too.

4Airfare prices are killing me.
When my sister moved to Europe in late 2001, I could fly round trip to visit her for under $500. Now, I'm trying to book a flight to visit her but the cheapest airfare I can find is $1100, and that's in November!
Granted, I know that the only reason prices were so low in '01 and '02 was because of 9/11. But I wonder if people will stop traveling again because of the price increases.
5I think I am just going to wear all my clothes when I fly and then just use the products they have at the hotel! Maybe doing that I can get away with no luggage
6I travel a lot for work and I leave a regulation plastic baggy filled with the small sizes of everything I need. I also do not pack my entire product line I only pack what I know I will need for the few days I am away. I am not surprised that United is the first they seem to be the worst with everything you can hardly fly stand by anymore. Even the International flights have gotten pretty bad unless you are in business or first class.
7This sort of makes me grateful that I won't be getting enough vacation time this summer to go anywhere. Sort of.
8This is all very frustrating. I am going to Taiwan this July for an entire month and the airline I am using lets people check two bags for free so that should be bearable. The big problem will come in August when I have to move to Law School and bring my whole life with me somehow.
