The Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy tests 12th graders' money knowledge every couple years, and the average score is typically about 52 percent. US News & World Report shared some sample questions from the last survey done in 2006 and I've reproduced them here for you to test your knowledge — are you smarter than a 12th grader?

6/6! w00t. but then again, i'm soooo not in 12th grade any more ; )
1whoa I only got 1 wrong! That made me remember why I hated tests in highschool. they are soo wordy that I get the possible answers mixed up.
2Wow, I am smarter than I thought. I really wish I was this good with my money.
3I was never taught ANY of this in 12th grade. So i say I am smarter than a 12th grader even though i missed a few.
44/6 not too bad!
55/6 and I'm Canadian
65/6...I changed my answer on the one that I got wrong from the right answer to the wrong answer.
7hmm... 3/6
i'm from the uk, is that a good excuse?
^_^
8Yes, Sammi that is a very good excuse!
9lol 1/6. no wonder i'm broke
10well i am a 12th grader; and did better than average; though i still missed 2.
11i have never been taught any of this esp not in school, i don't know that i agree with the stock question, my grandmother put money into the market for me since i was born for college and at one point i would have come out really good but by the time i went to college (a few years ago) it was slightly better than comming out even
126/6. I know these answers now, but I don't think I knew them in 12th grade.
13Yeah, my opinion is since when did they start teaching this in school? I think they should but they tend to leave out the important everyday successful life strategies in school.
14I never learned any of this in school either, but it should be required!
151/6
16I'm French ^^
I was in 12th grade last year and they didn't teach me ANY of this. But I got half right!
17Woo-hoo! 100% YEAH!
18ajajaja i got ONE right. yay me, i guess
19hmmm... statistically the last question might be "stocks," but it seems to me and everyone i know, that the stocks invested in their children's education for 18 years never ever paid up. (myself included...)
