Check Credit Report
If you haven't done so this year, request a
copy of your credit report from one of the nation's credit bureaus. You're eligible to receive three free reports each year, one from each bureau. Then, call your credit card companies and try to
negotiate lower rates — lower rates mean reduced interest payments, and you'll be able to pay off your debt more quickly. Finally, come up with a payment strategy including a goal date for when you'll be debt free.

I thought you were only able to get one free report a year. Good to know.
1my wamu credit card gives me a free credit report monthly... it's very helpful. i forget which reporting service they use, though.
