The issues documented in this quick video are undoubtedly depressing, but I think it's important to see the results of the subprime mortgage crisis instead of just hearing about them. Scary stuff. Hopefully the people directly affected will be able to get back on their feet soon.

That is one of the most depressing videos I have ever seen. In which cities are tent cities like this cropping up? I would bet certain areas are more affected than others. The weather in the video reminded me of Cali, but I could be wrong. Do any of these people have the option to rent instead?
I think it is probably Arizona.
The video was filmed in Los Angeles.
I saw a documentary recently on German-TV about Americans living in their car or small trailers after they had lost their jobs or become ill. They also showed tent cities. I think the situation is much worse then what your government wants you to believe. It's not good for the American image if people are living in tents like refugees.
this isn't new. but i think the rate at which such stories are cropping up are increasing in frequency.
This is a damn shame! Funny how this is on the BBC I've never seen this on CNN or any local news. All they ever have are millionaires and people who wrote books to tell you about the state of the economy. They don't dare show what the hell is really going on in America!
The country's economics have been in disarray for quite some time, at least it's starting to come to light. Unfortunately I think it will get much worse before it gets any better.
I fear that this will only increase as the economy worsens. I too find it horrible that we find out through BBC and not our national news.
God, I am so thankful I have a roof over my head.
