Airborne was never particularly something I bought into, but that doesn't mean I've never tried it. Often recommended by stars and featured on popular talk shows, Airborne made its way into the bodies of people hoping it would do more for their immune systems than crossing their fingers. Turns out Airborne doesn't have any proof that its product does any good beyond a placebo effect, and the company has agreed to pay $23.3 million in a class action lawsuit for false advertising. Given the context, doesn't the guy in the blue suit on the box look like he's rolling his eyes at the product? If you want to know how can you get in on the vitamin-y action, just read more
If you purchased an Airborne product between May 1, 2001 and November 29, 2007 you can file a claim and will receive a refund for your purchase. Depending on how many people take the initiative to file, there's a chance your refund will be less than the full purchase price if the total claims amount to more than $23.3 million. What if you don't have proof of your purchase? The settlement website says: If you do not have a Proof of Purchase, you can still file a Proof of Claim for up to 6 boxes of Airborne Products. You will get a refund that is based on the average retail price of the Product: $10.50 per box of Seasonal, $2.75 per box for Gummi, and $6.99 per box for all other Airborne Products."
You can file your claim online at the Airborne Settlement website or send it by mail. If filed online, it must be submitted by September 15 and if you send it in the mail, it has to be postmarked by the same date.

class action lawsuits are ridiculous. this country is so sue happy. sad.
1Ill still take it. Its a great cure for hangovers.
2wow. It's not like the product did any harm to people, though, right? I've never entered a class action lawsuit, though I've often received things in the mail from banks or movie rental companies asking if I wanted to opt in. Waste of my time, if you ask me, and I probably wouldn't receive that much money. Plus, I never really care about the topic of the lawsuit. So what? I could have been overcharged $2 back in 2004 for renting a movie? Oh darn.
3I swear by airborne. I take it every time I feel myself starting to get a cold.
4I always take it. I really think it works.
5I loooove the gummi losenges.
6I never really thought it worked but I do not get sick that often or that easily.
7i knew a guy who lived by this stuff and he swore it worked for him. he dealt with the public constantly and I don't recall him getting sick.
8idk, i've never used it.
Won't stop me from using it. This whole class action lawsuit really bothers me.
9i always take it before i go out drinking and it works great to prevent a hangover
10Interesting. I have a few coworkers who swear by that stuff, but I never really bought into it, either.
11People swear by it b/c it's easy to do so...it's an 'immune booster' which means it's the same as taking your vitamins and supplements. But to make claims that it cures a cold, then that does deserve a lawsuit b/c it's conning people to believe it works. The only reason other than it providing the same effects as vitamins it would work is the phenomenon called Placebo Effect! Come on people, read what you are taking and you'll see there's nothing in it to help in curing symptoms or to aid in a hangover, it's vitamins and supplements and your mind's hopeful thinking. So to protect us from ourselves, yes indeed I believe it is deserving of a suit!
12Where on the box does it make claims to cure a cold? Cold PREVENTION, is another thing ... and hey - no one's forcing you to buy the damn thing, it's your choice whether you spend the money on this or Vitamin C tablets and orange juice!
13I tried it & thought it was grody.
14Clearly this product is a sham. I never bought this product for two reasons: the first, the creator, a schoolteacher, has no science background and the second, this product never underwent any sort of clinical trials. Do your homework people! If you want to boost your immune system eat healthy, stay up-to-date on vaccines, exercise and get a good night's rest.
