Can you believe it's already month two of 2008?! I found that once I entered my working life the months seemed to blend much more than when I was a student. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? It's not necessarily a negative phenomenon, but it does leave the door open for many, "Where has the time gone?" and, "I'm going to be (fill in the blank) age before I know it" moments.

So in an attempt to keep time on our side, I'm checking in to see how you're doing with your New Year's goals. Last month 50 percent of you told me that paying down debt would impact your finances the most this year, 30 percent named saving money, 13 percent committed to learning more about money, and 6 percent wanted to increase retirement contributions.

I've been working 7 months now, it feels more like 1. I go on my first vacation next week, I don't really need it yet though, lol.
I forget what I voted for last month, but I'm doin' good with the money... pre-vacation.
1I got a job and now my goals will be headed up instead of down. I have nearly zip in savings.
2I have plans to pay off my last credit card and put money into savings this month. So far, I'm doing better than I expected!
3I didn't post before, however, I did pay of my credit card debt. All $600 of it.
I failed to realize, when I got my credit card last year (to build credit), that the more in-debt you are, the more it affects your credit, even if you pay on time every month (which is why my credit was steady in the middle).
4I paid off half of my credit card debt..
5I paid off some debt-woohoo.
6I haven't made a dent in my debt overall (damn mortgage!). But my goal was to get $500 into my savings, and it hurt, but I did it. But I suppose, if it was easy, everyone would be doing it.
7In a way I'm paying down my debt. I'm using my student loans to pay of my credit cards and finally stop paying all that interest. I'm saving money so I can pay my loans off when my I'm out of school
8We are lucky that my husband has a very loving and generous mother that she offered to pay the mortgage by herself and we pay her back without the interest. We also saved a lot oon our heating bills because we don't turn on the heat until it's 40 degrees below outside, and instead of turning on the heat at night while sleeping, we turned it off and use our electric heated blanket, we had started saving for another property abroad for retirement because we prefer properties rather than 401K.
9Well, I was doing GREAT by saving a whooping 50% of my full time paycheck!
BUT, I just got let go due to slow business on this past thursday without warning. I'm so stressed, saddened, depressed, desperate for a job.... =(
10i have been making a list of the prices of groceries from different places and comparing prices, plus keeping track of everything I buy. I've also made a plan to pay down debt with my roommate. we've also decided to save up change to go towards a trip to seattle this year.
11So far I have paid off my car (whee) and one credit card. The bad news is I had to dip heavily into savings after I dropped my phone in water AND lost a diamond necklace all in one weekend. Two steps forward...
12tdamji: ps i live in seattle so give me a holler if you need a tour guide!
13i paid off my high-interest credit card in full last week. sweet!
